Summer has finally arrived, hope thats the end to the poor weather, this last week has been beautiful.I thought i would tell you of all the exciting wild life sightings in one week.4 killer whales in Mooen Bay 5  sea eagles flying together over Glendale Hall and then I saw them again 3 days later over Dunvegan Head, Ive never seen so many together before, saw another sea eagle at Orbost while we were having my 5 year old grandsons birthday BBQ on the beech.Twice in one week the golden eagles resident to Waterstein flew over the cottage.Quite low too.Andrew and co who come up from Yorkshire every couple of months to fish off the rocks at Oisgill, saw 6 x 30' basking sharks playingin the sea just in front of them, then a minky whale came right out of the water, and if that wasn't all they also saw the otters down there too .Not sure what the fishing was like as they couldn't stop talking about there sightings.I still have the week 25th of Sept.vacant,if you like wildlife then this is where its all happening at the moment. The couple in the cottage this week are keen bird watchers and they have had a fantastic first day, so many birds to see, he's making a list for me and I will add it on as soon as he has finished. They're definetly coming back.I finally brought my peats home, Keith came over with his landrover and trailer on friday and they're safely stacked behind the house ready for the winter.Nearly finished painting the house too.A very good week thanks to the sunshine.
