Peat Cutting

I have started cutting my peat last week,The ground is still quite wet but its not to bad if the spade and iron are sharp. Its lovely up on the moor the orcids are fantastic, there everywhere, they are so delicate and yet stand all the weather Skye can throw at them. From my peat bog I can see the top of Neist Point lighthouse, The islands of Rum and Canna to the left behind the Beata Mor and to the right I can look out to the outer isles,The Ske larks sing all day and its so peaceful,The red throated divers are nesting on the small lochen behind me and I can hear them calling like a  very loud duck sound when they fly.Tess and Cassie keep me company, theres no where  I'd rather be on a beautiful day.I'm getting on quite well, although its much easier with 2 people, still have a long way to go if I'm to cut enough to see me through next winter. but I'm getting there.
